# Leveraging GenAI and Distributed Teams

> How generative AI and distributed teams offer startups a leaner path to product-market fit with less capital and faster validation.

## What this piece is

A reflection on how GenAI and distributed teams are redefining the startup playbook. The traditional 10-plus year journey from ideation to scale can be compressed by prioritising product-market fit from the outset, using AI for rapid prototyping and market research, and tapping a global talent pool through distributed teams.

## What is the core idea?

Startups can now validate their core proposition — even something as simple as an API — before investing in a full platform. GenAI enables rapid prototyping, automated customer discovery, and market research at a fraction of the traditional cost. Combined with distributed teams that remove geographical constraints, founders can preserve equity and maintain strategic flexibility. Commercial traction is the only true measure of product-market fit.
